10. William⁴ Knox (James³, John², Mr.¹) was born Canajoharie, Montgomery, NY After August 1802. William died 1870 Canajoharie, Montgomery, NY, at 67 years of age. His body was interred 1870 Canajoharie, Montgomery, NY, Mapletown.

He married Jane Ann Mitchell Bef 1826. Jane was born 19 July 1803. Jane died Nov 1890 at 87 years of age.

William was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census Canajoharie, Montgomery, NY. The following individual is also linked to this event: Jane Ann Mitchell (household member). According to Reynolds, he inherited the family homestead at Canajoharie, cleared and brought under cultivation by his father. He was educated in the public school, and always followed agriculture as his business. He was a very religious man and stood high in the estimation of his neighbors. He was a Whig and a Republican and a member of the Dutch Reformed Church.

William Knox and Jane Ann Mitchell had the following children:
