He married Elizabeth.

Conflicting evidence states that Thomas was born in Delaware, Abt 1808.⁽²⁷⁾ He is 52 years old in the 1860 census.

Thomas was listed as the head of a family on the 1870 Census in Mispillion Hundred, Kent County, DE.⁽²⁸⁾ His family is enumerated between the families of his sons David and James.

Thomas was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Harrington, Kent County, DE.⁽²⁹⁾ Thomas's will was probated in Kent County, DE, 13 March 1895. File mentions Tilghman, David, Eugene and Fred Brown. The latter three are sons, but relationship to Tilghman is unknown.

6 v. Sarah J. Brown was born in Delaware Abt 1856.⁽³²⁾ She is 4 years old in the 1860 Census and 14 years old in the 1870 Census.

7 vi. Margaret Brown was born in Delaware Abt 1858. She is 2 years old in the 1860 Census and 12 years old in the 1870 Census.

+ 9 viii. Willard Brown was born Abt 1867.

+ 10 ix. Frederick O. Brown was born Nov 1870.
