He married Margaret Wyatt in Delaware, Abt 1881.⁽¹³²⁾ In the 1900 census, She and John VanSant have been married 19 years.

Margaret was born in Delaware 5 May 1858.⁽¹³³⁾ Margaret was the daughter of John Wyatt and Angeline Minner. Margaret died in Delaware. Her body was interred in Delaware, Wyatt Cemetery.

John was listed as the head of a family on the 1900 Census in Mispillion Hundred, Kent County, DE.⁽¹³⁴⁾

John Vansant and Margaret Wyatt had the following children:

3 ii. Maud E. Vansant was born in Delaware August 1886.
